Here entitles important information you are required to know upon role playing in this group. While you are not required to have watched nor heard of the anime Simoun, you are expected to become at least a little familiar with these important terms:
Daikūriku
The earth-like planet in which three nations reside. Everyone is born female here. When a person turns seventeen, they are sent on a pilgrimage to the holy Spring where they are then expected to choose a permanent sex, male or female, or the remainder of their life.
Simulacrum
The main nation out of the three and the main focus of the plot. This prominent city is a city of freedom and choice; something the other two nations lack. They also are the only ones out of the two nations that possess helical motor machines called Simoun; two person airships able to create massive glyphs in the sky called Ri Majoons. Most of the Sibyllae derive from here.
Plumbum
One of the nations currently at war with Simulacrum. Similar to the other nation, Argentum, with whom they have teamed up with, their goal is to wreck the Sibyllae and capture the mystery that is the Simoun so they can recreate and harness its ungodly, destructive powers. Almost every citizen is forced to become a male at a young age with no say in the matter. Many suffer from breathing problems as the air is filled with a never-ending supply of ash, chemicals, smoke, and industrial steel. They speak a different language than the other two nations, and their common attire consists of gas masks and dark suits of the same style. Many of the priestesses often originate from here.
Argentum
A slightly wealthy nation that has allied temporarily with neighboring Plumbum to try and steal a Simoun. When in war, they typically pilot small, torpedo-like aerial ships called "dragonfly" fighters and prefer to attack in swarms after being dropped from carrier ships. Note: Sibyllae often remind each other that they are not allowed to look an enemy in the eye, for if they do, they cannot kill them when the time comes.
Simoun
Helical motor ships described as sacred by the Simulacrum people. It is taboo to take them apart. Only those who have not yet chosen their sex - a trained Sibylla - may fly them. Additionally, it takes two Sibyllae to fly one ship and both most be in equally calm and connected mindset to fly one. Sibyllae fly Simoun by kissing each other then kissing the large celestial reactor core between the two cockpits. These steps must be completed. Simoun are commonly used to "pray to the sky" by making large vivid glyphs in the sky called "Ri Maajon". However, while the Simulacrum people regard the machine as sacred, many call them a destructive force of hell itself. Each Simoun is equipped with a speaker system that can grapple and connect to other Simoun in order to speak directly to them over intercom. When grounded, their motors align in a horizontal position parallel to the ground.
Similie
Smaller variants of Simoun used for training. These only posses one cockpit and one large helical motor. Unlike Simoun, they are small and cannot draw Ri Maajon.
Ri Maajon
These are enormous glyphs of light drawn in the sky by Simoun said to be the language of their deity. They can be used for combat and ceremonies, however, they are more like "prayers to the sky" to the Sibylla who fly them. Their shapes can be practiced in the zero-gravity pit in the inner courtyard using a special stream of smoke to draw the shapes. Anything that comes across the path of a destructive glyph will be disintegrated in an instant. There are numerous types, each with their own symbol, symbolism, name, and effect. The one that must never be used is the infamous, destructive Emerald Ri Maajon.
Ri Maajons: Ri Maajon List
Simoun Gem
These large, spherical green gems are situated between the two cockpits. To activate them and ultimately fly a Simoun, a pair must kiss then kiss the gem. When a Ri Maajon is drawn, the initial structure materializes in its depths, showing the users how to draw it.
Choir
The term for a group of Sibylla. At full strength, there will be twelve members in a Choir piloting six Simouns.
Active Choirs: Choirs
Sibyllae
Sibyllae are priestesses, or girls who have not yet chosen a sex that pray to the sky with a Simoun. (Singular: Sibylla, Plural: Sibyllae). They are the only ones that can fly a Simoun and go through special training to do so.
Sibylla Aurea
This is the head Sibylla of a Choir. Anyone can be promoted to this position.
Regina
The leader of an entire Choir.
Sagitta
The Sibylla partner flying the rear cockpit of a Simoun. They navigate and are in charge of weapons and other accessories during combat.
Auriga
The Sibylla partner flying the front cockpit of a Simoun. They control and steer the ship and ultimately create the shape of the Ri Maajon when drawing it in the sky with the ship.
Dux The overall commander of the Simoun carrier ship. They are responsible for personnel decisions and for dispatching the Simoun fleet when needed.
Caelum Prima
"Sky First". The large airship responsible for carrying Simoun and required personnel. It is piloted by a Captain whom gives orders and a Dux whom commands the decisions of the Simoun fleets. During times of peace, it is used as a ginormous freighter ship.
Pilgrimage to The Spring
When a Sibylla or any Simulacrum citizen at that matter turns seventeen, they will be issued to partake on a pilgrimage by train to Simulacrum's sacred Spring. Here, they will consult with the High Priestess within and choose their permanent sex for the rest of their lives. If they choose male, it will take a year or two for the bodily changes to fully undergo processing until they look like a male. If a sex is not chosen, or the girl cannot make up her mind, she will automatically be assigned the gender male in place of her absent decision. However, Sibylla in the war effort may leave whenever they wish to the Spring regardless of their age.
Tempus Spatium
Tempus Spatium is the deity the people of Simulacrum believe in. Tempus Spatium exists in The Spring, and aids in the power of flight with a Simoun. Ri Maajons are drawn as prayers to it; they are of its speculated language. It is also believed to exist in the Simoun Gem. This religion guides the Sibyllae, although not all believe in its presence. When depicted in monumental form, two pillars with wings serve as this emulation.
